Experienced instructors

Our instructors are actively working in the tattoo industry everyday.  When they are not teaching classes, they are tattooing. And having been in operation since 2007, we are also experienced in the ‘teaching’ aspect of tattooing and piercing.

Tattoo shop environment

The classes are held in a classroom environment inside a tattoo shop.....here's your opportunity to witness a 'day-in-the-life' in a tattoo studio atmosphere.

DURATION - 3 DAYS

1. PIERCING STATION SETUP

  • setting up a PIERCING WORKSTATION

  • choosing the right piercing needle for the job for best results

  • familiarization with the piercing instruments

  • all supplies needed to get set up and where to get them

  • the different needle depths for tattooing, and how to adjust

2. board of health regulations

  • what the BOARD OF HEALTH generally looks for in a safe tattoo shop

  • what the BOARD OF HEALTH does not like to see in any tattoo shop

  • setting up your station in accordance with BOARD OF HEALTH regulations to ensure client safety.

  • what cleaning solutions to purchase.....or how to make your own as approved by the BOARD OF HEALTH

3. bloodborne pathogens and cross-contamination prevention

  • BLOODBORNE PATHOGENS...what are they?

  • preventing the spread of BBP with CROSS-CONTAMINATION PROCEDURES.

  • implementing CROSS-CONTAMINATION PROCEDURES during setup, during the tattoo process, and during the tear-down of your station

  • the supplies necessary for CROSS-CONTAMINATION PROCEDURES

4. piercing procedures and techniques

  • client assessment

  • piercing release form

  • measuring and marking of the various body parts

  • positioning the client for maximum comfort while getting the piercing

  • utilizing the EUROPEAN METHOD OF PIERCING, which has proven to be much easier to learn and easier to perform than the conventional NORTH AMERICAN method.

  • practicing the piercing method (lots of exercises)

  • when to clamp and when not to clamp

  • the concept of swelling allowance and how it relates to measuring

5. body parts/PIERCINGS that you will learn

  • LOBES

  • HELIX AND FORWARD HELIX

  • NOSE - NOSTRIL

  • the most common piercings you will be asked to do when you're starting out, and how to prepare for it

6. PRACTICE ON LIVE MODELS

On the 3rd day of the course, you will be asked and required to bring in your live models for as many of the different piercings as you can. Or, for a small fee, we can provide some models for you but it is not guranteed.
